The Housing Department has recently launched a pilot smart access control and visitor registration system at Long Shin Estate in Yuen Long, as part of its efforts to promote smart estate development. The project is now operational and is gradually optimizing the access procedures for residents and visitors. Likon(力安) participated in the design and implementation of this system, adhering to its research and development philosophy of being "Client-focused, micro-improvements, and high effectiveness" to provide a contactless access control and visitor registration solution. The system supports both the "iAM Smart" personal code and Octopus cards, allowing residents to choose their preferred method for entry and exit, thereby enhancing convenience. In terms of visitor management, the system incorporates the "iAM Smart" personal code for digital registration. This simplifies the traditional manual process and reduces the handling of physical identity documents, helping to improve operational efficiency and privacy protection. This project serves as a practical case study for smart estate applications and demonstrates the feasibility of such technologies in public housing estates.
